3008 is a survival horror game based on the SCP-3008 creepypasta, the one about being trapped inside an infinite IKEA. You build a base, scavenge for food and furniture, and try not to get destroyed by the Employees. Those are the tall, faceless staff members that come out at night to hunt you down. It sounds wild, and honestly, it is.
What You Actually Do in 3008
During the day, you explore the store. The map is massive and randomly generated, so you never really know what’s around the next corner. You grab food like meatballs and drinks to keep your hunger and thirst up, and you collect furniture pieces like shelves and sofas to build your base.
Base building is a big part of the game. You want walls, a roof, and ideally some height so the Employees can’t easily reach you at night. Bases can get seriously impressive, especially on servers where a whole group of players teams up and builds something huge together.
When night hits, the music changes and the Employees spawn. They are not slow. They will chase you down, and if they catch you, you lose your stuff and respawn at the start. Surviving waves of nights is the main goal, and longer night streaks unlock new titles you can show off.
The Good, the Annoying, and Where the Game Is Now
The atmosphere in 3008 is genuinely creepy. The store goes on forever, the lighting is eerie, and running into an Employee in the middle of scavenging can actually make you jump. For a Roblox game, it nails the vibe of the original SCP concept pretty well.
The frustrating part is losing everything when you die. Starting over with no food, no base, and no supplies gets old fast, especially if a griefer knocks down your base right before night. Some servers have that problem more than others, and there is not much you can do about it.
The game still has a solid player count and gets regular visits, so it is not dying by any stretch. Updates have been slow lately though, and veteran players have kind of seen everything the game has to offer. It is still a great pick for anyone who has never tried it, and it holds up well for a few hours with friends.
If starting from scratch after every death is getting frustrating, check out our 3008 Scripts page. We have scripts that cover things like auto-collect, speed boosts, and god mode so the Employees stop being such a problem.
